Corina and Sebas asked us to DJ their wedding in Guayaquil. We travel outside Mexico often, but this was our first time working in Ecuador.

Cori comes from a family of international advertisers — her father, Eduardo Maruri, runs Grey in Europe, and her brother is a working actor across Latin America. We expected a wedding with ideas in it, and it delivered.

It was held at a private residence with Spanish colonial architecture and a garden of enormous trees that needed no decor at all. The banquet was relaxed and the room intimate — the thing a civil ceremony aims for and rarely gets.

We flew in two days early and spent Friday on production rehearsals. The party started at 6 PM on Saturday and ended at 10 the next morning. At some point Cori's brother Eduardo climbed into the booth and showed us how Guayaquil throws a party.
